3月26日讯 在谈到国足0-2不敌澳大利亚的世预赛18强赛第8轮赛事时，孙继海认为，国足中场菱形站位值得商榷。
在个人微博，孙继海写道：
昨晚的杭州是我第一次走球迷通道、坐球迷坐席，以纯正球迷身份看一场国足的比赛。对于0比2，我有一些保留看法。
纵观比赛，我们的上半时过于保守和紧张，主教练的这种中场菱形站位值得商榷，现如今的国家队面对澳大利亚这样的对手，菱形站位不太适合小伙子们发挥出自己的水平和能力。
进攻方面，我们的进攻推进的速度比较慢，有威胁的直传球比较少，尤其是上半时，几乎没有渗透性的向前传球，横、回传球次数过多。其实我们也创造了不少定位球尤其是角球，但我们的变化少了一点，没有实现真正的转化。下半时我们小伙子的表现让人鼓舞，形势也得以有很大的改观，这种反差其实值得我们很好的去探讨和思考。
不管怎样，0比2已经是过去时，6月的两场与竞争小组第四的印尼和巴林的比赛才是生死战。散场的时候，一位球迷爸爸给他儿子说的一句话让我特别感动，我希望更多的人关注足球，然后投入到中国的青训，有朝一日真正让中国球迷得到持久的快乐。
