4月26日讯 据talksport报道，现年43岁的前曼联球星埃弗拉将参加职业综合格斗（MMA）比赛，将于5月23日在巴黎上演其（作为综合格斗选手的）首秀。
埃弗拉在 2006 年至2014年间为曼联出场 273 次，帮助曼联赢得过五次英超联赛冠军、一次欧冠冠军和一次世俱杯冠军。埃弗拉还曾效力于摩纳哥、尤文图斯和马赛等俱乐部，并为法国国家队出场 81 次。MMA是一种规则极为开放的竞技格斗运动，允许选手使用拳击、巴西柔术、泰拳、摔跤、空手道、柔道、散打、截拳道等多种技术，既允许站着攻击对手，又可以进行地面缠斗，被誉为搏击运动中的 “十项全能”。
埃弗拉是在2016年开始进行格斗训练的，目前他5月23日比赛的对手尚未确定，但埃弗拉表示希望将来有机会与苏亚雷斯（Luis Suárez，前利物浦、巴萨球员，效力于迈阿密国际）交手。埃弗拉在 X（推特）上表示，他愿意自掏腰包与苏亚雷斯比赛，即使苏亚雷斯咬他也没关系。
