本场比赛，卡瓦哈尔与其他没在大名单上的队员一起坐在了替补席，期间皇马右后卫不满场上判罚，他曾向主裁判德布戈斯大发脾气并且爆粗。卡瓦哈尔喊道：“厚颜无耻，XX养的！你那样罩着拉明（亚马尔）？就在那，去你们的！”
按照规定，言语侮辱和攻击主裁判或助理裁判或第四官员，视情节严重性，相关球员有可能被罚停赛4到12场。幸运的是，卡瓦哈尔的粗言秽语以及对主裁的不敬行为没有被写进裁判报告里，他不会被惩罚。
